SUSI Grant - Parents status

    Hi all

I have just been refused the SUSI Grant for the upcoming academic year, as my income along with both my parents is above the maximum threshold.

I've just been thinking, my parents are not married (never were), but do live together. When completing my SUSI application I put both of their marital statuses as "cohabiting" rather than single as they do live together but are not married/divorced/in a civil partnership. I noticed when filling out the form if you put one parents status as single then it does not ask for a second parent/guardians details.

In this case, was I right to include both parents on the application as "cohabiting", or would they technically be considered single given they are not married? That way, I would've only had to include one parent which meant I would have been eligible for the grant that way.

Could someone clarify if my parents' status are both single or "cohabiting" for the purposes of applying for the grant?

    TIA

    Mark
