Been with Imagine since forever, but FINALLY got my NBI pre-order notice. Now the agony of choosing a new provider (just in time, just read the doom & gloom predictions for Imagine). Vodafone come recommended and are very resonable priced but their install lead time is very long (Sept. /Oct). Ruralbroadband.ie can offer installation in about 10 days and their pricing is decent as well, anyone used them before? I rather like the idea of a smaller operator having used Amocom back in the day and found their customer service exceptional.

Never mind, Vodafone was on the ball and a dude just called to the house, he had more info re install lead time and NBI goes live in the area on the 24th so an install before the end of the month is possible. Obviously he got the sign up xD.

Its strange that Vodafone are claiming a long install lead time while RuralBroadband is only 10 days - its the same contractors that install for all retailers on the NBI infrastructure and it would be NBI that would be coordinating the install date with you (in the same way as on SIRO and OpenEIR) so I'd be double-checking on those install times

I went through a similar history to you with Amocom and Imagine and also went with Vodafone for fiber. The guy who called told me 4 to 6 weeks but I think I had it installed in less than 4 weeks actually. Install was done by KN/Circet who didn't turn up on the due date and didn't bother telling me they weren't coming so I wasted a day of my annual leave being home. They did come on the second day.
