Vinegar to neutralise odour

hi,

Looking to buy vinegar to try and neutralise an odour. nice and easy job I think, In to the shop I go and find the below. Which of these is best to neutralise odour?

1. Distilled vinegar
2. Malt vinegar
3. Cider vinegar
4. White wine vinegar
5. Red wine vinegar

Go and get a catalytic fragrance lamp. We use it here to rid rooms of dog smells and recently had left a pizza in the oven accidentally and headed out for an hour and came back to kitchen smoked out.

Cleared the smoke, burn smell lingered. Put the lamp on for 30 mins and not even a whiff of burnt pizza.

I didn't believe the sales spiel, but it feckin works brilliantly

You can buy large quantity of vinegar in many hardware shops and garden centres. Much cheaper than food quality vinegar. It is sold as a cleaning agent and weedkiller.

Distilled vinegar is the one I would choose from the above list. It will have no extra odour.

black & white

undiluted white vinegar worked for me getting rid of kerosene smell a few weeks ago. I put a couple of bowls around the affected area.

thanks. So what do I ask for in the hardware shop - weed killer is it?

What's the odor? Sliced lemons worked well in a refrigerator to kill a nasty chemical smell, likewise kerosene smells caught in an inside bathroom (it's complicated…)

Just leave them in a bowl for a few days, then dump the lemons.

Would you put salt and weed killer on your fish and chips?

Distilled vinegar. A dish of bicarbonate of soda left out will also absorb odours.

Mix the two of them together with warm water and use in a carpet cleaning machine for better results than the very expensive bottles of Rug Doctor liquid.

Depends what the odour is?

For paint fumes or stale tabaco smells, a chopped onion left on a saucers dotted around the room with small drop of water works wonders . . though I don't think it would do a whole lot for a dead body below the floorboards if that's your issue.

If it's a carpet type area mix the vinegar with baking soda and warm water, wet the smelly area, scrub it hard with a good brush and leave it for a few minutes before cleaning off. If that doesn't help burn the car.

Shake baking soda or bread soda all over and leave for few days and Hoover up again.

After that use distilled vinegar in a spray bottle, you can add a few drops of any zoflora to give a bit of fragrance.

Depends how long the cadaver was in the boot for 🤭 . . Either way, because of leakage, you'll need to remove the carpets and burn them, then wash all contaminated surfaces with bleach and water to eliminate any DNA trace evidence. Probably best to then sell the car to some foreign bloke on donedeal or take it to wasteland, burn it and report it stolen.
