Buffering and service outages with Virgin Media 360 Apollo Streaming Box - Olympics?

    For the last week we've been watching the Olympics a lot.

    And, during that time, we've been getting regular buffering outages. The outages are sometimes followed by service breakdown when everything goes for up to 20 minutes - TV, phones, computers.

    When this happens the message on the TV says either, "This channel is not currently available……..", or "Check you hub connections……." Channel availability is BS because no channels are available. And, hub connections are perfect.

    I'm just wondering if the Olympics puts pressure on streaming TV? (Our router is in an upstairs office. The TV is downstairs and the signal is fed to it via power-line adapters. We find this better than via WiFi.) Or, is it Virgin's service just acting up? (Checking their service update site shows that they're unaware of any problems in our area.)

    We've had Virgin WiFi for years and it has been bullet proof until we added TV a few months back when all our problems began. We still can't record to the 360 Apollo box (cloud recording, not HD), even though it's in our contract, so we're paying for it. We will almost certainly not be renewing the TV bit of the service.
