New build - how to get on Google maps & broadband

    Hi,

We are just about to move into a new build house and have received our eircode but it isn’t showing up on Google maps. I tried to add it myself but it’s just been under review for quite some time.
How do people usually do this and how long should it take?

Also we are struggling with broadband. Fibre isn’t in the area yet and our house isn’t yet listed on the open eir broadband system so my only option appears to be mobile broadband. I was told it can take up to a year to be registered / indexed…is there anything I can do from my end?

    Many thanks for any help

From what I remember, it took a few months for our Eircode to show up on Google Maps. I messaged them on Twitter to move it along.

We also had to wait until fibre was installed on our road. We got a 4g router from Vodafone for a year. It worked out fine.

Google periodically purchase information from the likes of An Post who run the eircode system.

I can guarantee you it wasn't your twitter message to Google that got you on it. Google is a global tech giant...... They aren't going to read let alone entertain requests from their products. Yes, you are their product, not the customer.

I looked back on this again and I actually contacted Google on their support forum, not Twitter. The house was live on Google Maps within a couple of days.

Did you ask them to blur it on street view. important for rural houses, for obvious reasons

“I can’t pay my staff or mortgage with instagram likes”.

Id say 0.000001% of rural houses are blurred so your suggestion will only draw attention.

Plus while you can blur the street view you cant blur the satellite view which can be just as important.

So in summary your I think your suggestion is pointless.
