If someone gets approved for rental affordable housing, how long it takes to actually move into the property? Few weeks to few months??
Is it worth renting a cost rental apartment long term? Or better to go for buying a house?

It all depends. Is it a new build? Then as soon as they get the keys they want you in.

If your taking over from a previous owner they have to tidy the place up. Could be a few weeks.

If you can afford to buy house you should. You always have to pay rent on cost rental
