Why does Pat Cullen not condemn the Enniskillen and Omagh bombings?

Why are you asking Cullen to condemn what you yourself said was the work of another group entirely?

Do you condemn bloody sunday and Loughinisland?

This is about Cullen, not me. I condemn all terrorist attacks - regardless of the perpetrators' ethnic or religious background. Unionists have condemned loyalist attacks.

You mean those attacks in which they colluded with British forces ?? I don’t recall many apologies.

Let's be honest. Those who call for politicians and other high profile figures to condemn this or that - aren't actually looking for them to condemn the incidents. They are looking for them to NOT condemn the indident so they can release the hounds.

    Yep.

This craic of asking people to condemn events from decades ago (possibly even before they were born) is tiresome.

We have moved into a new reality of peacetime in Northern Ireland. This is just a distraction from those who still live in the past, and have nothing constructive to add for the future.

And it's not just in the North, FFG also use it as a go-to to deflect from current topics of the day.

perhaps she supports and agrees with them

do we know all those involved in committing these atrocities ?

stands to reason that many of those who committed horrible acts of terror and hate as younger people are still involved insf

perhaps she did. perhaps you were involved. perhaps lord moutbatten and shergar were involved.

in our society everyone is innocent until proven guity. thats the basic premise in both british and irish law.

Do you think she is not entitled to those basic rights? if so why dod you say it?

It wouldn't be a story if he did condemn them.

lol touched a fairly raw provo nerve did i ?

she shows her character by her actions , if she doesn't like it she should have better actions , simple

Has the OP yet condemned the Nanjing Massacre of 1937 ? Or the Cambodian massacres of the 1970s ?

The absence of any unequivocal condemnation has created a vacuum where inevitably people will speculate. Sometimes silence really can be deafening.

Presumably if you asked the OP to comdenm those massacres he would.

The issue is prevaricating and being evasive on the subject. If it was known that republicans would always outright condemn previous attacks and atrocities then the question becomes moot.

But they don't. And thus it gives ammunition to their opponents.

Many unionists don't condemn the killings the army were involved in. This was worse than loyalists terror attacks because it was our official state army doing the killing. In fact many unionists rub salt into the wounds by trying to say that the Catholics were armed.

Also you could argue that many loyalists terror attacks were even more sickening given that our police force would secretly help them.

In some cases (not just in the Troubles), security personnel have killed civilians by mistake, e.g. Jean Charles de Menezes. In the Troubles, some soldiers committed murder but other soldiers killed civilians who they mistook for terrorists or who they mistakenly hit while shooting at terrorists, i.e. stray bullet, ricochet.
