Laptop dead or charger dead?

I was using my laptop yesterday unplugged with no issues and the battery was flat when I came back to it.

I plugged in the charger but it was not showing as charging (normally a light is shown when plugged in).

How can I tell if the laptop is dead or the charger is dead?

Laptop is an acer helios predator 300 purchased in 2021.

If not mistaking, acer known issue if battery was let to deplete completely. Keep it plugged for a while and see if it return live or g search for battery reset

Thanks - I'll give that a shot later before I pull the plug and order a new adapter.

There were no performance issues or warnings with the battery so this has come out of nowhere

Could you borrow a charger to see if that helps ?

It could also be a problem with the lead.

You might check the plug fuse too.

Some power "bricks" have LED indicating power - does yours?
Do you have multimeter? set it to DC(~20V or whatever adapter is rated for) and test voltage on the plug that goes to laptop…
