I have lot of bushes that are hard to net from the birds and I am wondering whether I can cut down the branches with the berries on still greenish and leave them somewhere to ripen.

I do that with tomatoes to some extent. Will it work with blackcurrants?

The birds are quick workers and my bushes are too big to net with what I have to hand.
