Read threads always bold in my discussions

How come on my phone when I read a thread in my discussions on my phone it’s unbolded as expected. However when I view my discussions on either desktop or tablet it’s bold no matter how many times I click into the thread. This is a very poor user experience and it’s also hard to navigate, can this be fixed?

I assume you mean on the homepage (boards.ie)? Yes, that's a design flaw, but it's the same for everyone. Three options:
Wait for Boards to fix it (I wouldn't hold my breath)
Use https://www.boards.ie/discussions instead (or https://www.boards.ie/discussions/bookmarked for the "My Threads" equivalent - there is no "Trending" equivalent though)
Install the browser extension in my signature, which unbolds discussions on the homepage that you've read
