Biological & Biomedical degree in Trinity and completing a diploma in TUD to become a medical scient

Hi,

Has anyone completed a biomed degree with Trinity and then decided to complete the Coru approved diploma with TUD to register as a medical scientist?

Is the diploma one or two years? Any information would be much appreciated.

The diploma is 2 years and involves placement in hospital laboratories.

If you want to become a medical scientist, just do the accredited course from TUD, ATU or MTU.

Doing a degree in trinity and then 2 years of a diploma just takes much longer. With limited places for the diploma course, it might be hard to get into.

Its ridiculous that our degree is not already CORU accredited.

The trinity course doesn't cover the modules required to work in a hospital laboratory. It doesn't include Clinical placement.

Graduates from trinity aren't qualified to work as a medical scientist. An accredited degree in medical science is a qualification.

Like degrees in physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dieticians etc. It's a qualification, not just a third level degree.
