The perpetrator, who had, after quitting teaching, become a solicitor and then a judge, used his disability to take advantage of pupils.

I'm used to hearing of cases in which the perpetrators of the sexual abuse of young people were teachers or other persons in authority but I find it difficult to comprehend that someone born with Thalidomide defects would have the premeditation to commit such crimes because, given the physical and psychological difficulties that are caused by those defects, one would've assumed that sex would be the last thing on the mind of someone who was born with those defects.
