Fly tipping

So some c**t reversed down one of our lanes and dumped a load of rubble/waste. I called the council who sent out an inspector who basically said that if I don't remove they will issue me with a section 14 order for removal. This is because its on private land.

Surely this can't be the case, that I am responsible for clearing rubbish dumped by a fly tipper? Anyone else have experience of this?

I'd expect the council to remove it.

A few years ago someone dumped stuff on our lane (private commonage) and the council (Wicklow) traced the originator and removed it. Originator had paid someone with a van to remove their rubbish.

With the local election looming now would be great time to get your local cllr on the case. Let them get onto the council. Might be worth a try.

Yep, council removed dumped rubbish for us about 5 years ago on this lane. The inspector said that that's not done anymore. The landowner must dispose now at their own cost. Seems crazy, what if it becomes a regular occurance?

the council removed it for my neighbour 2 weeks ago, he gave his number to my neighbour and said to ring him if it happens again. The only good thing is the dopes that dumped the rubbish left letters and even hospital appointments letters in the middle of the rubbish.

Doesnt need to be a dummy ,

Although its prob a good idea to place a dummy camera in a visable but out of reach spot , and a hidden real one that can see faces and number-plates

It happened to my neighbour some years ago, black bags of household rubbish dumped over the wall into his field. In a fit of fury, he went through it, found the address on correspondence, photographed the letters, loaded the bags into his boot and dumped them back into the front garden in the housing estate.

We’re along a main road, the amount of McDonalds packaging, 1/2 eaten breakfast rolls I’ve to take out of the fields in unreal at times
