Gross pay vs Taxable pay

Hi, If I want to complete income tax , do I provide gross pay or taxable pay from my spouse employer ? his employer paid some money on retirement fund so there is few thousand euro difference between gross pay and taxable pay. I believe that this is excluded from taxation on completing income tax? or I am wrong.
