    hi all , I was driving along the other day and out of nowhere there was a big bang . I pulled over and straight away noticed the bonnet had lifted about 60mm on the hinges . I googled it and found out it was the hood lift system which is designed to activate in a collision. My car has never been in an accident or even slight tip . I brought it to a garage and they said both hinges along with lift systems and a ribbon that is behind the front bumper would need to be replaced. About 2.5k too ok do this .
    just wondering if anyone out there has had this issue and what did you do ?
