    Hi,

Both European and Local Elections are coming up next month.

With the above in mind, if anyone gets a clear position from a candidate standing for election, with regards to where they stand on shooting and hunting sports, can they please post details here?

Ideally, posts should be short and to the point, including the name of the specific candidate.

Hopefully, over the next few weeks, this will become a useful resource, to help us all decide who we are going to vote for (or vote against).

I know it's very difficult to resist temptation, but please try to resist the temptation to just post general negative comments about existing. politicans, or allow the discussion go off topic.

    Thanks.

    Thanks,

    G.

    Hi there.

I put it to Louis O Hara, Athenry Candidate down in Galway when he landed on my doorstep.

I asked if he was in support of hunting, shooting and country sports. He said he was, and his party, SF is supportive of hunting.

I remember him last time being against it and I challenged him on it. He told me both his and the party position have changed since last time out.

Still won't vote for him though!

    Hi,

Mick Wallace has confirmed in writing (email, maybe) that he's supportive of hunting, and rural pursuits.

He responded to someone, who posed a copy of his communication elsewhere, without their name etc. - which I took a screenshot of (not sure if it's appropriate to post or not, so have held off for now).

    Thanks,

    G.

Pity Mr Wallaces time in the Dail didn't reflect his new found love of countrysports. He was a big supporter of ICABS along with Red Claire Daley .
