I came away very disheartened by the whole experience. I know I'm not stupid but I was felt very thick after the numerical!. I have to say this thread has been great for me seeing the general consensus that it was very difficult. In terms of passing I'd be stunned if I did but Que Sera, Sera. Will there be an open competition coming down the line soon?

Yea I was the same, any free time I had I spent on numerical practice assessments and I still ended up guessing quite a few of those questions.

I wouldn’t mind, I aced the numerical assessment in the EO comp which was also a Sova assessment, but it was nothing like we experienced int his comp.

where does it say in booklet that results will be out in early August. A colleague emailed pas and were told mid aug

Looking at my results for that comp, I was completely wrong thinking I had in ‘aced’ the numerical. I just barely passed!

A lot of people in the same boat with the numerical. There is an open HEO competition running currently, applications closed in June, for the return to work programme - degree and past experience required in one of three disciplines; ICT, Finance or HR so a number of positions will presumably be filled from that panel also.

    Did you get results today?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 293 ✭✭JennyZ

    Results are not out yet.

Me too, I felt i was so well prepared going into the numerical as that would be my weak point so put a lot of practice in. May as well have just chanced it. Guessed a few as well.

Me too, I know it's still technically the beginning of August but the waiting is so demoralising.

Will never get my head around why they can’t email after you did it seen as it’s automatic

They usually drop at around 4pm, it was never going to be this early. It's to avoid hundreds of queries. If they do it last thing then over the weekend then queries will subside. It could still be today.

I'd say that's spot on. Really do hope it's today though to put me out of my misery if nothing else! Would be very surprised if I actually passed but everyone agreeing about how awful they were is giving me a tiny sliver of hope!

They wouldn’t give our results before a bank holiday weekend

  • Registered Users Posts: 112 ✭✭VitreousLife

god forbid we got them and were allowed to enjoy this bank holiday 😂

I looked back on my public jobs account and the last 3 sets of results I got were a Friday at 16.19,

    16.39

    16.43

Fair to say if it's not by 5pm itl be next Friday.

I've got results twice after 5 before so wouldn't write off today just yet.

I doubt it was on a long weekend. Unfortunately, it will likely be between 7-9 August, around 3 weeks after the closing date of the assessments.

Maybe they're doing the shortlisting prior to releasing the results. Bit pointless saying passed the tests and a few weeks later saying sorry not shortlisted

  • Registered Users Posts: 208 ✭✭blondie007

That's a very good point !! Must look up the familiarisation book again to see what they say regarding it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 50 ✭✭shardor18

THats the impression that I got from familiarisation material. The application and test results would both be used for ranking people who actually managed to pass those tests.

  • Registered Users Posts: 929 ✭✭✭furrybones

While this was also my guestimate I'm still bitterly disappointed results weren't released on Friday.

In like 2022 I was a CO applied for HEO competition with PAS but I rushed the form and didn't really have the comps needed. Did the tests scored pretty well. Was in the first batch and they said they would be doing the shortlisting based on the form before the interview my form didn't pass at that time and I was not called for interview. I would assume they will do it the same way. There will be shortlisting based on application form after tests results.

The extra week to wait for results is killer.

If they are shortlisting after seeing who passes the tests and basing shortlisting on the form / application, do they look at other things I.e. sick leave? I presume they wouldn't have access to sick leave records and such yet?
