Looks mesmerising but does it really deliver 10MWh per year and is it reliable?

Wonder how many of my cat's 9 lives will be consumed by one of those. Our my kid's fingers.

Unlikely. At this point he's talking miliwatts per fan in a 3.5m/s wind.

Computer fans and other high RPM easy to spin motors need speed. Things like a bicycle dynamo or windscreen wiper motor are designed to run slower so you don't need to turn them as fast to get power out of them.

There was a fire station in Dublin (north side?) that had a wall of fans, clear plastic , was on eco eye or similar program IIRC.

If Robert Murray-Smith makes it then you know it's a dud and has no commercial use or application.

I guess RMS is useful in that respect. If he tinkers with it then forget it.
