Bird Shite Stain removal idea/solutions

just wondering it anyone has any tips or solutions to removing the ingrained marks that are left after bird shite has stained the paint work ?

@ antodeco thanks and a think a 12 gauge could sort out the problems, but sadly not practical in an estate 😁 .

@ Jim_hodge i have washed and polished the car today with no success, the marks are still left imprinted in the paint work agghhh

I would not do this, unless you can trial somewhere inconspicuous. It kind of dulls the paint on a metallic finish.

Depends if it's gone through the clear coat, if it is then you need to paint it. I'd try some polishing compound but you might need to wet sand it

On one of mine, a black car, I've several poo stains. The issue is that there is an acid in their poo and if left out in the sun, it will effectively cook on the paint. This usually tends to require a full polish again to get rid of it unfortunately

that’s the thing with bird **** there’s a lot of acid in it and if you leave it to bake on the car for more than two days there’s a risk of it getting under the lacquer . Especially on a black car. I had a few on mine from previous owner and deep polish only mask it slightly. So best advise is to wash it off as soon as you spot it. Bug removal spray helps to soften it before washing or wiping off.

Some ultrasonic bird deterrent device might do well:)

Use a heatgun, or a hairdryer if you haven't got one (or fear you're incompetent). The etching will magically disappear in front of your eyes.

What do you wash your car with? A decent car shampoo usually gets rid of the poo for me.

Presumably the stains he's talking about are etching into the top coat from the acid in the poo, not just a lump of bird crap on the car. Car shampoo will remove bird poo alright - but it won't repair the damage to the top coat.

Anyway - heres the hairdyier method. Its not abrasive - so its always the first method you should use before attempting to compound the paint or rub it.

They have mixed reviews these things so I never bought one . I have many trees and shrubs around me and birds are everywhere so I am not sure if a simple UV beam up into the sky will make them fly different direction. Or maybe they will get scared and crap out , literally , on to my yard which opposite of what I need

I heard many moons ago that birds will try and disguise their presence to predators by pooping over water. And a freshly washed/waxed car has virtually the same reflective effect as the surface of a puddle/pond/lake, etc.
How true that is, I don't know.
But I have noticed that the swallows/swifts have recently returned to my neck of the woods - again.

I've heard it said that with a freshly washed / polished car, they can see their own reflection in the Roof / Bonnet / Boot lid, and see it as competition and crap on it as a marker for their "territory"
