If you have a smart meter does the night rate time NOT change anymore…its 11pm until 8am all year around (Electric ireland)

I was feeling great this moring in the shower thinking I had until 9am at cheap rate but when I checked the online portal it said 8am day rate kicked in (as of 6th April)

I was under the impression that with the 108 SM the time does change, so it's midnight to 9am now

If on smart plan it's 11-8 year round

If on day night(mcc02) it is now 12-9

But the time does change on the RM108 meter.

I had my meter in before the October time change

here is a printout from the EI portal from 6th April and it shows peak starting at 8am…obvisouly it would be nice to start at 9am looking at my usage 😃

Whats your meter code on the bill?

I thought you couldn't get insights if you weren't on a smart plan?

Im on a smart meter one of the new fancy ones that were rolled out to people who had day night meters (MCC12). I just assumed that the time would shift like before but I suppose that only happened becuse the old D/N meters didnt change their time as the clocks went forward or back.

I will just have to get up earlier and have the shower🤔

Are you on a Day/Night rate plan at the minute?

Your on a smart plan if it's mcc12

    It is 11-8 for you.

Mcc02 is the traditional day night

Just to confirm - RM108 D/N meter remains 11- 8am all year round for off peak?

In real time RM108 is night rate as it always has been so 12-9 right now (real clock time)

Mine is going in on Wednesday (RM108 for MCC02 day night rate), good to know it still changes with the seasons so it's still 11-8 in winter and 12-9 in summer, yeah?

Yes, ignore meter time, just go on "real" time

all we need now is an aforementioned Summer

    If on traditional DN plan

    Summer off peak is 12-9

    Winter off peak is 11-8

The time does change on the meter.

If on smart plan, it's 11-8 year round.
