Change of Ownership Conflicting Dates

    Any advice appreciated here.

Buying user car from a dealer.

Motorcheck.ie report shows the last private sale (it says private with company in brackets, but still classed as a private sale, not a dealer) as being in January 2023. Current dealer has the car since Jan 2024.

The dealer showed me the log book/VLC yesterday, section C.9 shows a last sale date of October 2022.

Also, the last sale date on the log book of October 2022 isn't listed on the Motorcheck.ie report. According to the report, the car was in the hands of a dealer during this time, from September 2022 to January 2023.

Could there be a legitimate explanation for this as to why the last sale date doesn't say January 2023?

Mileage checks in the report show that the car only drove around 2500km in the period in question, from October 2022 to today.

It's a nice car and had it checked by our mechanic who gave it the all clear, so would hate to cancel the sale based on the ownership issues if they can be explained.
