I am considering trading in car in couple of months. There some small scratches etc around boot area.Is it worth spending a bit of money getting these repaired before trading in?

Usually it wouldn’t be worth it. Dealer can get it fixed cheaper than you can.

Dealer probably make a reduction in trade in offer. But would cost you a lot more yourself to get the entire anel section resprayed

Unless it's a high end car I would seriously doubt it will pay off

Depends on the age of the car.

If it's any more than about six or seven years old they might not even look too closely at it.

And if they look out the window and say we will give you x amount, you.can be sure you are getting next to nothing for it.

    Better buy straight.

The car would be worth 15 to 16 k going by online.Could cost couple hundred to sort out few marks.

If selling private, absolutely have the car perfect. Trading in, don't bother as you will likely just be putting money in dealers pocket.

It's depends, if you have a time for it.
