Hedge cutting out of Season.

    Quick one..

I was chatting my hedge cutting contractor and he asked me to find out if you are allowed to trim behind electric fences. I was googling last night and i can only find out that farmers can cut road ditches on the roadside only if they are causing a hazard. Some of my ditches have not seen a hedge cutter in 3 years due to wet weather and they are encroaching on my electric fence and I don't fancy going at them with a hand held strummers. I was hoping just to trim behind the fence and not top.

Can anyone let me know if there is any exemptions to the closed period on the grounds of securing boundaries.
