Electricity Supply

Hi All, I am setting up a coffee van in a private car park. I have all permission etc. The only thing i need to do is supply my own electricity. In order to do this, do i request ESB to do this (as it will have to be metered) or is there another way. Presumably they will take from a close by supply. Ideally the electricity plugs would be on a post and i would have a key to access it every time i need it. Any positive help in this regard would be most welcomed on how to go about doing this. P.S. I am not talking about a e-car charge point. I am talking about actual electrical supply to run the equipment needed to serve coffee. Thanks

Esbn won’t install to a coffee van(or any other temporary structure)

youll need a rec to wire a permanent supply to a fixed point in a building and certify this. Esbn have a charge for this also. It’ll be simpler and cheaper to ask the landowner to use their power

Have you contacted ESBN? I would be very surprised if they would put a power supply in a private car park just for a coffee van to use. Why not just run it off the power in the nearest building with a power monitor so you you know how many units you need to pay for. Any coffee vans I see use their own generator.

By all the permissions do you mean planning permission?

Why not go direct to ESB Networks or a RECI contractor for advice on getting a connection within the regulations?

99% of vans use generators, you can get quiet ones too, and if it doesn't up successful, at least you can sell the Jenny on again
