    Hi.

I have a 2016 Volvo Xc60 2lt diesel and was hoping someone could identify these parts as i have smoke coming from them.

Its the large black pipe and sensor.

    Thanks

That’s the pipe coming from the air filter and I am thinking the Mass air flow sensor.

Edit: mass air flow metre is correct. 31342521 is the part number written on it and confirms on google.

Is there a name for the pipe?

Last week i had new EGR PIPE and EXHAUST PRESSURE PIPE fitted.

Air intake pipe I would say.

I'm not a mechanic so someone more knowledgeable might confirm or not.

Looks like air intake pipe should be no smoke coming from them

I’d say those pipes wouldn’t be made out of plastic/rubber.

So it's not EGR pipe or Exhaust pressure pipe????

I don’t know what the mechanic was calling that pipe, but it is the air intake pipe.

the air filter is in the box in front of it.

The EGR and exhaust pressure pipe would be on the 'dirty side' of the engine as they are linked with the exhaust system. This pipe here is on the clean side - ie the fresh incoming air. And no, there shouldn't be smoke coming out of them as they are negative pressure (they are sucking in air) rather than pressurised (blowing out air).

Have you witnessed smoke coming out of these parts yourself?
