Eflow charge on car I sold

    Hi,

I traded my car in with a local car dealer at the start of February. I received the new log book for my new car a week later.

Today I got a letter in the post from Eflow for unpaid toll charge for my old car.

What's the best course of action to take to resolve this quickly? Contact the dealer or contact eflow?

    TIA

First thing I would do is have a look on the Change of Vehicle Ownership page on motortax.ie to see what stage the car is recorded as regards ownership change, it should say sold or else traded to a dealer on x date.

If car is listed as being changed status before the fine was issued I'd contact Eflow to explain that it was not under your ownership at the time. If the car is listed as no change or the change is after the fine was issued I would contact dealer to complain to them what has happened and tell them to pay it.

Check motor tax and if the change of ownership date is before the Eflow incident just call Eflow and they will cancel it

If the change of ownership is after the date of the incident or there has been no change of ownership done then contact the dealer

    Thanks for the advice everyone.

I checked the vehicle ownership on motortax.ie and it said there has been no change to the vehicle ownership details in the last 6 weeks.

Happened to me. I e-mailed e-flow & they refunded the charges.

They won’t refund it in this case since there has been no change of ownership

You will have to call the garage and tell them to change the ownership, and backdate it to before the toll fine, or at least pay the toll.

It wasthe same for me. Garage didn't transfer ownership until the car was sold.

I e-mailed e-flow & they refunded it without any question.

I messaged the garage too & he sent me the money for the tolls which I gave back to him when eflow refunded it
