Vrt/nox on 2016 vivario

Anyone have a rough estimate on how much a 2016 Vauxhall vivario is to vrt from the north. It's value is 7500 sterling. I'm getting 4k vrt and 6k nox. Surely this is wrong.. I'm also typing in some details of a renualt master and it's coming up 145k haha so surely something isn't right.

I thought panel vans had a flat rate of €200 for VRT and no NOX charge?

If it’s a panel van (3 seats in the front only) , it’s €200 VRT flat rate.

Yeah it's only 3 seats in the van. Think it was registered ni van before brexit aswell.

I suspect you're searching it as an 8 seat passenger instead of a commercial van.

You put in the details of a passenger version. There are no panel vans on the calculator (because they’re a flat rate)

Yeah i thought something must have been wrong. i was driving a 2l similar van older version. this is only a 1.6 cdti. wondering should i even buy it if towing a trailer sometimes with building materials. Good driving vans thou. I prefer them to other vans tbh but wondering will this engine be powerful enough for what ill be using it for. Says it has a 2ton pulling weight.

The Renault 1.6 dci engine is actually a little cracker of an engine. I assume this is the engine in the Vivaro and not the Vauxhall 1.6 “whisper diesel” which can be troublesome.

Wikipedia says the Vivaro uses the Renault R9M engine, so that’s all good.

Sounds good but what about it being a 1.6 compared to my 2.0 primastar 08 engine for pulling trailers

The old 2.0 engine wasn’t that powerful either way. Do you know what power version of the 1.6 you’re looking at? There’s different versions.

Tried a renualt master but throwing ridiculous prices out again!

Would this be classed as a panel van aswell and also be 200e vrt and no vat if was an ni van.

The master is bigger than the vivario thou. It's not far off a sprinter. This is why I've asked. Just Incase I do buy it and end up getting stung by revenue when it's time to pay the vrt

This is what I'm wanting to know too. When I buy a van from the north, if it's a panel van what do I pay to change it over.

Is it just 200 vrt, no nox, no vat, no import duty.

Or is it vrt 200, no nox, some vat and duty!

I'm still confused about it all!

You can pay vat up there.Then your 200 vrt and then 20 percent duty.

I could be wrong but I think its something like that.

If the van was manufactured with 2 seats its €200 VRT

If the van has never been registered in mainland UK theres no vat or customs

If the van was registered or moved to NI before Brexit theres no vat or customs

If the van has been registered in mainland UK after Brexit it incurs VAT and customs

Even here in this post it throws a ? The Renault master and vivario has 3 seats. You've said vans with two seats so I'm now sitting here still scratching my head at what the answer is.

haha i think your right although you just never know. You know what its like nowadays. You miss one small detail with something and it could cost you alot. Just looking to cross the t's and dot the i's.

With that said, i went and seen the other van. Waste of time. gear box issues, back door wouldnt close right and lights on the dash. Thats 4 vans ive seen now on different sides and lengths of the country :( Nightmare trying to get something decent for my budget. Now choosing between a 2015 transit custom, a mwb transit 2016 2.2l (2 of them) and now an opel vivario 2015 2l 8k budget.

For a quiet life just buy a Vivaro/traffic/ nv300 in the Republic. Plenty available, not expensive and they drive well and economically.

They where all dearer in the south by alot. Ended up getting a nice clean lwb Transit instead. Few minor issues but going to sort them. Nice big van they are.
