    Hi

Noticed a damp smell on and off over past 6 months or so then with recent really heavy rain that my windscreen was actually leaking. the front and back passenger sides floors were sopping.

I’m told the windscreen ‘dropped’ .

the gentleman who ive booked to do the valet for me after the screen repair has told me he’s done 14 this past year because of this fault with focus

anyone any experience of this ?

    thanks

Check if it's the original windscreen or 3rd party. Any history of it being replaced?

Regarding water leak issues with a Focus - never seen/read of windscreen issues. There's a common issue with the hatchback and estate models where water pools in the boot by the spare wheel. Another one is the weather seals on the doors tend to come away at the bottom and could end up being torn off, that'll allow water in per the locations mentioned.

If it's the factory windscreen then I'd have it checked by Autoglass or your local Ford garage. Diagnostics with Ford aren't too expensive, usually €50-80.

Just checked there and the thick foamy seals are not connecting underneath the doors on both back doors !

so thanks for that these will have to be replaced also !

the windscreen was never replaced we have car from new

Thats probably it then, If the weather seals are in one piece you can get away with cleaning the surfaces and adhering with gorilla glue.

Good bit cheaper than replacing the entire strip. Did the same on my 152 Focus 2 years ago and it’s been fine.

    Well I’m glad I asked !! Thanks !

Im assuming that these seals got out of whack because of moisture that was getting in all along

    me turning on heat etcetc
