I about to replace my hot water cylinder. Should I put a cleaner fluid through the system before draining.

Is there any down side to using these cleaning fluids.

If you have the ability to do it while the feed and return to the boiler is exposed, then why not. As long as you don't have a system that was well sealed and wasn't depending on leak-sealing products or the buildup of residue to seal the system, then it will be fine.

I have never used leak sealing products. I think a flush will be good for the system.

One other question. Is it OK to put copper fitting on to a stainless tank?

And what sealent should I use?

How do you calculate how much plumbing flush to put into the system.
