On Paternity leave being told I have to still be on call

My partner is expecting twins in April and I got my paternity leave form filled out by my employer and then received a letter telling me that I will still have to be on call 24/7 during this period. Is this legal

Strictly speaking parental leave is the same as annual leave. Phone can be off.

No, you are off work and therefore cannot be expected to be available on call.

Expected to be available for calls 24/7 and go to site if issue cannot be resolved on the phone. Be tough to do with 1 new baby don’t mind we’re expecting twins

Just agree to it, then go and leave your phone in the car or on silent.

If they call - ignore it and let it ring out and when you get back to work. "Sorry left the phone in the car on silent and havent even looked at it since as we've been so busy with the baby and helping the mrs. but im back at work now, what can I do for you?".
