My wife is applying for our HTB - she was offered an amount but when I accept my application it says €5000 less

Does this mean it goes down by adding me in > surely it doesnt work that way

We've been told that it might be the 2 figures are added together ie her amount and mine

If anyone has been through this process and has any info, it would be great

We've rang, emailed and even went into the revenue office and NO1 has any info

You only get the same maximum amount, combined that you'd get as a single applicant, which is 30k. When we applied we got the amounts at the same time. I could have covered the full amount by myself but my wife only qualified for a small amount. We didn't need to claim the full 30k, it took all of what my wife could claim (about 6k from memory) from her and the rest from me.

Not sure if that answers your question or not, but you can't get more than 30k or 10% of your house, whichever is the smaller of the two.
