    get several more quotes.

This is a an indication of what the hardware cost is :

    14 x Jinko 450W Panels + 5KW Hybrid Inverter & 5.12KWH Battery - Steel – Midland Battery Centre

granted you are getting another battery, but its nto that much.

if you say a generous €1k fro roofer and €1k for sparks that,s a €5k mark up.

Is it worth it getting an EV charger during the initial solar PV installation rather than at a later stage? No EV car at the moment, but if it's too much hassle to install it later, we might get it now.

One crowd quoted somewhere between €1200-€1800 and another one €1250 with €300 available for a grant.

Then its not worth your while, you are probably better off getting more quotes for solar too.

Anyone go about the Electric Ireland offer which includes a free 5 kWh battery that they have going at the moment ?

I contacted them & was given the following quote.

We use about 5500 kWh per year.

I know little about Solar but it's something that we have been talking about here at home.

    Solar Panels

    TW SOLAR (Hefei) Co. Ltd

    5.3 kW Total Module Power

    12 x 445 Watt Panels (TWMNH-48HC445 Full Black)

    4,895 kWh per year

    Inverter

    SOLIS

    5 kW Total Inverter Rating

    1 x RHI-1P5K-HVES-5G

    Battery

    Dyness

    5.12 kWh Total Battery Storage

    1 x B51100

12 x TW SOLAR (Hefei) Co. Ltd 445 Watt Panels (TWMNH-48HC445 Full Black)

    1 x RHI-1P5K-HVES-5G (SOLIS)

    1 x B51100 (Dyness)

    Standard System Price €12,267.00

Electric Ireland Discount for 10 Panels (limited time promotion) €-2,950.00

    BER Assessment (Included) €0.00

    Total System Price €9,317.00

    SEAI GRANT €1,800.00

    Purchase Price €7,517.

50% up front deposit & the other 50% after installation & we are satisfied with the system.

    Quotation Includes

Full supply, survey, and installation of your system.

    Published post works BER.

We will handle all necessary NC6 documentation submission to ESB.

We will handle all necessary SEAI grant application works.

**Quotations are subject to a technical survey by our engineer.**

    Seems high to me

I got a quote from one company incl grant of 6700 for

13 x 440 panels, 5kw Polar ESS inverter and 10.4KW of batteries. No BER.

The Solis inverter and Dyness batteries seem to be a little more expensive than Polar, but probably not more than €1,000.

I have put a request in for Electric Ireland quote. My gut tells me the free battery is factored into the rest of the quote. Just a marketing gimmick. Nobody is giving you shift if almost €3k. Most of that quote and any quote, is not materials, it's labour and mark up

Solar panel instalation is a cash cow for companies. It's very difficult to compare quotes across suppliers as they either have different panels, inverters or batteries.

I got three quotes off one company; solar only, 5kw battery and 10kw battery. All had different inverters and the two with batteries, were from different manufacturers. I can't really compare one against the other, except for the total cost.

Hi. Any thoughts on this quote? No BER included, and prices are after grant

A company form Enniskillen area offered this:

    17x 445w JA =7.56kwp system
    Solis hybrid inverter
    5.1kwh Dyness battery

    Price 8600 excl grant

After grant the price is 6800

    Is that a decent price?

    Hi all,

Just got our first quote for solar PV and would really appreciate some opinions on the cost. Can only fit 9 panels on south aspect

    Panels - 9 Luxor Solar, LX-445M/182R188-108+GG(1500V). €7695

    Inverter - Solar 5kW hybrid. €595

    Battery - SolaX Triple Power 3kWh. €1595

    Pre grant cost - €9885

Post grant - €8085. Have also been advised may need a number of optimisers due to shadow from chimney (these are €120 each but not sure home many yet). Additional battery would be €1395 and changeover switch €795.

Very new to the search but we think this quote is on the higher end of the range we’ve seen. Local company with excellent reviews and unlimited post installation support.
