Koleos - 2nd Owner Had Car For 9 Days

    Bon Jovi everyone.

I'm going to look at a 1.6 manual Renault Koleos at a dealer tomorrow, and did a cartell check today.

I know the Koleos has been withdrawn from the Irish market due to a lack of sales. Though as its based on the X-Trail, I'm hoping parts etc won't be an issue.

My main query is, the cartell report shows two previous owners. The original owner from 2019 to July 2023, then owner number 2 had the car a total of 9 days before being sold as a trade sale where it currently sits. No other discrepencies in the report.

    Owner 1: Jan 2019 to 18 July 2023 (53 months)

Garage had it for 27 days.

    Owner 2: 14 Aug 2023 to 23 Aug 2023 (9 days)

    Garage has it since then.

A cartell report was also generated for this car on 11 July 2023, 7 days prior to being sold to the garage.

Am I correct that this 9 day ownership is unusual, or could this be a common cartell anomaly from a trade to trade sale or something?

    Thanks for any insight.

Do you know if it was the same garage both times? If it was the same garage the concern would be 2nd buyer discovered something major wrong and brought it back for refund, that could mean crash repaired or major mechanical problem. Then again could be owner 2's circumstances changed, they came in to money and decided something else, got a better car from a deceased relative etc etc but they would have lost a lot trading it back.

Certainly keep your eyes open at signs of repair, flood damage etc. Renaults of that era had 5 year warranty, this would be up next month so best ignored as any kind of bonus.
