Leaky VW Golf - Garage Recommendation?

    Hey,

I discovered a pool of water in the boot of my VW Golf (around the spare tyre). It was a considerable amount of water, not surprising with all the rain we've had recently.

I've contacted a couple of garages and they don't seem too interested in taking it in to investigate/find where the water is getting in.

Does anyone know of any garage or mechanic in the Galway area that specialise in leaks?

Thanks in advance for any recommendations or advice

What year is your golf? The Mark 7 (2013-2020) have a weak point at the door seals where they let water in through the door panel as the adhesive on the weather barrier. It's an easy fix, just take off the panel and restick the weather barrier - loads of guides on YouTube I followed on mine when I had it

Have you tried investigating yourself to see where the issue might be? A lot of the time it can be debris built up around the rubber seals of the boot that are causing water to pool and enter the boot rather than drain off through the channels. If you open the boot and follow around the rubber around to check there's nothing obstructing it that could be where the issue is.

Could also leak through the rear lights or the behind back bumper as there are vents there I believe (I had a focus which leaked here once)

Yeah it's a Mark 7, I'm not too handy with cars/fixing myself, so will still try and find a garage who could investigate these issues you have all pointed out. Thanks a million for all the advice!

Hi did you find someone who was able to fix the problem for you?

Does it have a sunroof? The drain hoses on these shrink, shorten and pop out of the drain. Literally had one repaired last Friday. VW Tiguan.
