NCT question

Car fails NCT, several issues, one of which is the emissions.

Retest carried out today, within the 21 days, fails again, just on emissions.

Owner was told at the test centre that the car has to be retested again tomorrow or a full test will need to be carried out.

Is the timing correct here? The part about having to test tomorrow?

Also, apart from putting Dipetane in, what else can be done to get the emissions right.

I think if it's past the 28 days since the failed test then you have to do a full test.

For emissions try ragging the sh1t out of it on the motorway right before the test, and leave engine running when you get there. Don't need to break the speed limit but just go into a lower gear, get the revs up and give it the occasional foot to the floor.

The correct re test date will be shown when you try book your next re test.

Theres multiple reasons why the emissions might be high. It needs to be properly diagnosed.

Without knowing how high the emissions are, hard to tell if it's an engine issue or just needs an Italian tune up
