Fastway are easily one of the worst companies for service in Ireland. They are truly awful. The fucked 9 grands worth of stock outside my door in the rain one morning. No attempt to contact us, one item not there.

When dealing with any logistics, I now ask then not to use Fastway.

No company should use Fastway to deliver their products. They are a disaster and will trash the reputation of the company.

Nothing new in this, what's amazing is how they stay in business.

Disgusting that you seem to be gleeful that up to 1,000 people might lose their jobs / form of earnings.

Many delivery drivers won't be covered for money due. Many other businesses will be owed money too.

Hardly something to be jumping for joy for

I never said took any joy from it in anyway but the sad fact is that Fastway was a terrible delivery company and no I will not be sorry to see them go. Delivery companies are like airlines. They come and go and only the most efficient and best run will survive.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Companies as useless as Fastway just do not deserve to survive. They provided an appalling level of service.

    I'm partial to your abracadabra
I'm raptured by the joy of it all

I had a Fastway franchise some years ago, about 2004 to 2009. At that time it was doing what it was set up to do - collections and deliveries from businesses to businesses. I would have had an average of 120-130 parcels on my van for delivery every day - about 95% for business addresses. Usually less that ten parcels for residential addresses and even at that, they were very time consuming. But it was doable on most days. After I sold, the business model changed with much more online shopping and the ratio flipped. The guy I sold it to told me a year later that he still had an average of 120-130 parcels a day for delivery but that 75% or more were for residential customers. That was never sustainable. I feel really sorry for franchise holders who may have recently invested in a new van or a costly maintainance on their vehicle. Or anyone who recently bought into the system.

Was only talking g to a guy in Maynooth last week. He was doing maybe 350 parcels a day. Has to wait 5 weeks till he's paid. Thought that was a bit much. Are DPD and JMC like that? He rang me last night, he only found out the news when he finished yesterday. He won't be paid for the weeks he's owed either.
