As per the title. From reading the information on the various state websites it doesn't look like it can be.

But before I forget about the idea, I was wondering if anyone had gotten it paid into their child's account?

Our young lads money is paid into his Credit Union account every month. Don't see why it can't be paid into a bank account instead.

My OH set up a direct debit into a savings account of the same amount each month, so that’s where it accrues. OH still has full access to it but it’s kept off to the side.

That's what we currently do, but doing it that way means that if the money isn't spent on something (eg college), then when the time comes to give it to our daughter, it will count towards their inheritance tax allowance?
