Looking for advice, I need to purchase a 7 seater for room so have decided on a Skoda Kodiaq. I am getting a new 141.

They have announced they are releasing a new model next year but it wont be available until at least the summer of 2024 and will be at least 10% more expensive (price not set yet).

Should i wait or go ahead with the current model ? - concerned on the trade in value in 4 years.

Also, any feedback on 7 seater Kodiaq 2L diesel is appreciated.

    Thanks

A friend of mine has a 232 Kodiaq 7 seater and absolutely loves it. Plenty of space for him and his family (he has 5 children) and it is powerful enough for his needs. He did complain about the first service he had done on Friday, it cost €150 even before they started draining the oil and replacing the filter... Ended up at €240 once it was all done. If servicing costs are an issue for you, this might warrant a little research.

As for whether you should wait for the new model is mainly up to your needs really and whether you are willing to pay more money for the car and lose value in your trade in. You could end up losing money at both ends of the transaction by waiting which could match or exceed the loss of trade in value on the "old" model in 4 years time.

    Guessing 241?

If you aren't in need of it sooner I think waiting for the new model would be better in the long run, unless you get a big discount on the old model, the new one looks class .

Yeah 241, i dont really want to wait six months plus - additional space is kind of needed now @Widdensushi

    Thanks @Miscreant - I think i pay about €240 currently to service a Hyundai tuscon !

They do deals on a service plan over 1,2 or three services

Fair enough,a lot of the alternatives are getting new models so won't suggest another, if you waited for the new there's a chance it could end up a251 with delays, they are never early anyway, make sure you go to multiple dealers, guaranteed they will be trying to get rid of the older model and there's a discount to be got.

The new Kodiaq is quite a step up in many ways, interior being one. There’s nothing except dealer hearsay to suggest it’ll be 10% dearer too. No doubt it’ll go up but by how much is anyone’s guess right now. Personally, I’d wait.

The Kodiaq is a great seven seater , but there's a lot of them around, start a search for a second hand seven seater suv, put in a few criteria to narrow the search and you will see that there are probably more of them on the market than the alternatives put together.

The cost of some of the newer second hands is prohibitive - they dont seem to depreciate very much at the moment.

Current deal i have for a 241 is 0% APR on HP so its attractive that way.
