I know the general thing don't park badly and don't get clamped, etc.

There's currently a storyline in Fair City about a clamper and she's speaks about reaching her targets and clamping enough people.

Just out of interest Do clampers have targets?

Yes, I know I started a thread about this here.

I would imagine they have some form of targets.

It might not be as simple as number of clamps. If they are working in the same area all the time, then a measure of success could be that there are not the same number of cars to clamp in a given week or month.

They tend to work the same areas in Dublin. Easy pickings along Mespil Road and Waterloo Road etc.

If they’re not clamping how will the boss know they’re not sitting in the van asleep down some side street.

Expired parking tickets is what they clamp mostly, they couldn’t be arsed dealing with anything more complex. Saw a well known figure park his Range Rover in the middle of the footpath on Upr Baggot St a few years ago, was still there two hours later.

Yes, their target is to clamp illegally parked vehicles.

The great thing (for the clampers) when you pay by an app, is that the backend server can produce a lovely real-time report on what locations have the highest numbers of tickets which have just expired.

Not sure about DCC. Clampers working for private companies can earn a hefty amount of their total income in commission, which would incentivise them to set their own targets.

One I interviewed some years ago made €30,000 in salary and another €30,000 in commission. This was just coming out of the recession, so I'd say the numbers are up a good bit since.

Yes they do. Same as 3rd party ticket people.
