Terraced house converting - attic sound proofing

    Hello all

We’re in the process of converting our attic into a bed + ensuite. While they were installing the plasterboards, I had a question on the part wall plasterboard.

its a hollow space of 12inches or so till the plasterboard wall the neighbour

This is a new build from 2016 and we can’t fault the soundproofing. We can’t hear anything and our neighbours can’t either.

but in wondering if the ground floor and 1st floor have some sort of brick wall in the middle to help with any airborne or impact noise that I’m not aware of and that I should replicate on the attic level part wall.

I talked to other neighrboura who has their attic converted and nobody did anything special to their attic party walls.

maybe I’m just panicking over nothing and there won’t be a noise, I just can’t see how a 12-13 inch hollow space can provide any sound proofing

    appreciate any insight!
