Trailer just came out for this and they've made the very strange choice of completely ignoring the fact that this is a film version of the Broadway musical, which was based on the original film. It just looks like a completely unnecessary scene for scene remake of the original. They even use an Olivia Rodrigo song on it, instead of one of the many songs from the musical.
Anyway... to be clear, because the trailer isn't, this is a full blown musical. The screenings of it apparently got a great reaction too.

(Also Busy Phillips as Renee Rapp's mother is A+ casting.)
