"longest walk" golf club?

Played Woodbrook last week. It seemed long and we had a discussion about the longest course in Ireland - as in including from green to tee.

Rathsallagh and Highfield were two on our list.

Does anyone know what course is the longest walk. Tee to green to tee etc etc

The one that sticks in my mind is Killeen Castle. Some properly epic walks green to tee in the middle of the course

Killeen Castle, Macreddin and Farnham Estate would be up there.

I feel like Palmerstown House is a brutally long walk.

Also the walk between the 1st Green and 2nd Tee in Dromoland is a killer!

I’d go Macreddin, Palmerstown, Old Head has some long transitions too

First one comes to mind is Killeen castle! Played years ago and still remember the walk.. I wouldnt class Rathsallagh as long.. Palmerstown PGA another plus Esker hills

Headford new for the jug felt long with walks to the first tee and walks to a number of the tee boxes. Very nice walks it must be said. On bridges over rivers and through forests etc.

I think Rathsallagh gets the "long walk" moniker off the back of a couple of long walks between holes

Yep - that's what we were discussing and Rathsallagh is definitely up there with the treks between holes esp 1-2 and 9-10.

I found Carne (Dunes course) very long between tees and mainly uphill wouldn't like to play it in the wind and rain!

One of the holes on the front nine in Loch Erne is some hike. All up hill between par 3 green and tee for the par 5. View at the top helped though.

The thing I couldn't understand about this (when we played there in August) is that they have a de-fib machine right there - but it's at the bottom of the hill, not the top, where I very nearly needed it! 🤣

Palmerstown is fairly long yea, I don't know if it's even possible to do a 4hr round there.

But it's so flat I don't think you notice it as much as other courses.

Killeen Castle is the answer. 7,700 off the black tees and the walk from green to tee on can be anywhere up to 200-250 yards.
