    Hi All,

Im wondering if someone can assist. I am replacing the cartridge on my KLUDI concealed shower (image below). Model details can be found by googling "KLUDI BALANCE concealed thermostatic shower mixer" (I cant post a link here).

I have removed the lower mixer handle but I cannot see how to remove the upper on/off handle. I need to do this to be able to remove the cover to adjust and turn off the hot and cold water.

Does anyone know how to remove this upper handle?

    Thanks all,

    Al

    I'm not familiar with it.

But suggestions: see can the front face plate of the top handle be prised off, get a Stanley knife and see if the edge of the blade can get behind the face plate and see if any movement on plate. Try all the way around. If no movement, stop trying in case break it.

Next try the same on the top outer plate of the end of the part of the handle facing upwards.

Also what direction does the handle move when turned on and off?

I'd say it's probably the front round plate facing the camera is hiding the screw which holds the handle to the fitting behind.

Thank you... yes the round face plate is moving, and I have the lower thermostat handle off. The problem is that I cannot take the face plate off with the upper handle still in place. The upper knob turns both clockwise and anticlockwise to turn on, depending on whether you want to put on the over head shower or hose shower.

The actual unit can be seen on kludi.com. It is the concealed thermostatic bath and shower mixer 2

Any ideas on how to get that upper handle off, as you say, dont want to break anything.

Does the upper handle screw off?

No, doesnt seem to screw off (there is no screw I can see to unscrew). It's piece number 3 in the diagram below that I need to get off. Any ideas welcome, I did search YouTube, but this problem is model specific and cant find a "Kludi" video.

I was more thinking that the part that is vertical is threaded into the horizontal part so might unscrew from it.

I don't suppose the little piece that sticks out of the handle at right angles unscrews does it? If so the whole thing might pass through the hole in the plate without removing it.

I tried that alright, but no it doesnt unscrew. Looking at the drawings above, looks like one piece.

Alandub, I was referring to the face plate of the top handle. Literally the part where the number 3 is pointed to.

See can you prise off its face plate or the face plate on the end of the right angled portion.

the top handle can be pried off with a thin screwdriver, then a larger one. I just did it.

Now im trying to work out how to replace the thermostat! any advice?

what i meant is the entire top knob can be pried off, it doent have a cap. pry between backplate and handle.

oops, it looks like the up facing bit of the knob can be pulled out and a set screw removed (46 sec into the video)
