I got a quote to supply and fit new tall radiator, 1350 total. Radiator itself is 550, so looks like fitting is 800! I think someone is taking a mick here . Pics with old radiator and new one (same type)

It seems all plumbers are currently taking the piss. I don't know what you can do about it really.

This is a half a day job unless there's major new pipe runs - did it myself recently.

I just don't think he wants to do it, hence the crazy quote. He's working for a builder as we renovating bathrooms and doing attic conversion. I just tell him to forget it. That is a serious piss take, one pipe would def need to be moved as new rad different size and few screws to attach it. I will shop around

800 quid for changing a rad 😮 there's not much work in it.

    Whats your location?

    easy job.

    Drain system. remove old rad.

place new rad in middle of pipes and pipe symmetrical.

    Fill and vent.

Lob can be done for around €300 including fittings

Exactly, I know damn well it isn't that much work involved but it feels like he trying to penalise me for even asking.

I wanted him to do boiler service and install another tap outside too but he can feck off now. Rant over

    I'm in Fingal
