Diastasis Recti and surgery - VHI/insurance cover

    Hi

I have severe diastasis recti (more than 2cm separation) following three pregnancies. I have chronic back pain as a result. I believe the only way to fix it is by way of an abdominoplasty, which is usually a cosmetic procedure. Is there any way to get an abdominoplasty covered by health insurance, if it is for medical rather than cosmetic purposes? Has any one else had a procedure that is usually cosmetic covered by insurance? If so, I'd like to know what steps you needed to take.
