bord gais PV export on bill?

Is anyone with bord gais electric and seeing export on there bill as i dont see it?

From looking at the esb usage sites i can see most days im exporting about 3-4 times what i am using from the grid but my bill for the last 2 months is only about 33% lower than it usually is. I got 16 panels fitted in mid july and this bill is from 06 jul to 04 sept and i dont see any export on it and usage(Kwh) appears to be down about 33%.

With the unit rate going up over 40% in october it going to be a long time before i recoup my 12k investment in the panels.

AFAIK bord gais only pay out twice a year

It is kind of an unknown because it's their first payment since the FIT became active and is due next month AFAIK but you would expect all exported units from you're date of NC6 submission to be included as it's ESBN who send on that data to the suppliers I think. Have you made sure the NC6 was received by ESBN to be safe?

Edit, sorry my mistake the FIT started in 2022!

I received my first payment from them back in May. It was the last page on the bill that listed the details.

CRU confirmed to be in writing to get FIT you need to be on 1) smart meter 2) D/N and you get deemed export until that is closed off. Plus you need the ESBN to confirm you've an NC6 logged from your installer. FIT is only due from the date they process it.

How do you find out if NC6 has been sent to your ESBN? can it be checked online or do you need to call them?

I can see on ESBN site that they do show my export. I assume that means an NC6 has been sent in?

I have 21 panels. This was during the bad months and I was using the eddi to divert excess to hot water.

I have since upgraded the hot water cylinder and export instead of heating via solar.

So it was the hot water tank that was causing the massive drain and reducing your export? I thought the eddis were supposed to be more efficient that water tanks. I thought the most you could export was like 5Kw which is why i went with 16 panels(6.8Kw system) as i would just of been exporting into a blackhole. Note i dont have a battery.

Also what app is that. I assume thats the inverter app? Hauwei?

I can heat 300l in the new tank using the gas boiler for around 10c. All the eddi does is take the export to the grid and use it to power the immersion.

I am in the process of looking into solar, is it wothwhile putting an eddie in at all if the tank can be heated up @ 10 cents using the gas, my tanks is only 125 litres. I assume excess solar produced electricity goes to the grid if not used & if you don't have a battery for the excess storage.

Just realised that now.

I use ev rate (pinergy) to heat the water until 5am with 5 cents and then I can export with 27 cents/kWh and heat water with 10 cents gas.

Not a bad idea.

What happens with a provider if you leave them and you have exported a tonne to them.

Do they pay you at the next pay cycle even though you are no longer a customer or what?

Most here received a cheque in the post, but keep on to them because some suppliers are harder to get the money from.

If they owed you FIT payments then yes. You would need to keep at them though because they don't like parting with money!
