Invalidity pension denial

Hi all.

I received the rejection letter for my application for the invalidity pension (took just 3 weeks) I am in the process of getting everything together again to appeal this decision. Do I use the same form as initial application for the appeal or is there a different form for this.

You must enclose a copy of the letter of refusal.

Only appeal if you’ve been refused on medical grounds.

Only appeal if you have further supportive evidence if your incapacity for work.

Include a detailed letter from yourself explaining why your condition/injury prevents you from working.

I was refused for invalidity pension. Requested a review and sent in more medical evidence. How long does it take to get decision

How long is a piece of string, impossible to give an accurate response & dependent on the reason for decline. Many declines are as a result of sufficient evidence of a permanent Disability/incapacity. Clearly some some physical irreversible injuries easily assessed, Mental, Neurological illnesses not so much.

Certainly no less than two month but likely more at a Guess. Disability Allowance might be an option if declined after review.

Reviews are currently taking 10/12 weeks, appeals 20/22 weeks.

Its always worth seeking a review before an appeal.
