Looks like a good supernatural thriller

    Drops on October 19th

Four detectives, living in four different eras, find the body of the same murder victim in London’s Whitechapel. They soon come to realise their investigations have them central to a mysterious conspiracy spanning over a 150 years.

Hey that looks rather intriguing; it'll all depend on how far and deep the central mystery goes. Anyone read the graphic novel it's supposedly based on? Would almost consider renewing my Netflix sub for that.

Watched the first episode and I really enjoyed looking forward to watching the rest over the weekend.

Watched 2 episodes so far. Very intriguing. I do find it funny how so many dystopian futures feature dodgy leaders displayed on giant screens preaching. Easy to do I suppose.

Finished this today - what was with the tattoo on the wrist, maybe I missed the explanation, it just appears when they time jump??

I’m two episodes in and loving it so far.

Best series I’ve seen In a while on Netflix.

I’m on the second episode (got interrupted watching it tonight) Not sure about it so far. I find the WW2 cop pretty unconvincing I must say. So, still on the fence, but I’ll persist with it. Distinct lack of Stephen Graham so far. I thought he was going to be one of the detectives, but seemingly not. (I’m trying to decide if he is the shadowy figure in the photograph that the Victorian era detective burns.)

    Stephen Graham? Yes,please. Brilliant actor.

Just finished it. Enjoyed it. A few loose ends remain. Yes at least one of the "cop" stories was a bit hokey, but they all tied together later.

Interesting to see what the final scene means....

The pacing is way too slow. I'm three episodes in, and it hasn't quite grabbed me yet. Stephen Graham is wasted in this role, so far anyway.

I believe the showrunner or writer said he's not interested in doing another season, but I'm sure he's just using that as a negotiation flex with Netflix.

As others have said I think the acting is the MVP of the show, it was really well done across the board. The story itself I'm on the fence, as it's really difficult to do this type of show without finding holes.

Generally I feel if you enjoyed Dark on Netflix, you'll enjoy this.

What's with Detective Maplewood, very strange looking height and fringe on her.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

It is in the future and therefore must be different to us stylistically, also the issue with her spine probably causes height issues.

When can we use spoilers to talk about it? Though the first few episodes were great, ending was possibly the only weak point but does fit in neatly.

Also enjoyed this some great characters, I didn’t like Whiteman at first but he grew on me and was one of the best characters along with Polly and her dad I only realised at the end that older Polly was played by Greta Scacchi.

The time jump aspect was all a bit vague, like they didn't want to even try and explain it. 😛

Finally caught the first episode: and man it was a proper "first episode" of a mystery TV show to the extent it almost felt a bit of a Post Lost throwback - Mystery Box Corpse, cryptic phrases n' all. All the main characters were interesting in their own right, though I'm not sure I'm that down for some OMG Forbidden Love with the Victorian copper; it has been done to death. The contemporary era copper was the strongest character I think, and the actor had good magnetism; I'd be happy enough if we just followed her.

And big LOL for the terrible, Lisbeth Salander esque haircut on Future Copper; will need a few more episodes to get used to that 'cos that was also a bit too Try Hard. Still, it has me hooked and mostly for that now slightly retro feeling format.

Anyone watched 'Bodies' series on Netflix and can give a review and rating?

Just looking for something to binge on!

Only caught the second episode there and oof, the future stuff is gonna have to win me over. It was far too goofy, the whole regime and its slogan more like a stoic Dr. Who than some ominous and oppressive future. The silly fashions were a giggle, but the giant skyscraper propaganda videos, loudly broadcasting even at night, was too much.

I finished it at the weekend there. I would agree that the final scene didn’t really make sense (without spoilering, it didn’t fit with the timeline to have that character show up then.) A few holes in the plot to be sure, but some good performances and watchable enough.

Finished this up & I think on balance this was a great wee once-off show; that in of itself made it appealing as there was no "fear" or worry the story was gonna be teased into a second, third season or more. I got past the THIS IS THE FUTURE future London in the end, but it kept nagging at me how ludicrous it was given how grounded the other 3 time periods were. Really the main complaint was the story really started to drag by the back half of the eight episodes. I'm not sure it even needed to be 8 'cos began to wear itself a little thin.

Not entirely sure the time travel stuff made a lot of sense, and it wasn't clear why or how

Elias travelled back in time in one piece, while Defoe got split into multiple versions of himself; or indeed the last moment and Maplewood somehow living in present-day London? I wasn't under the impression she herself got split up; that smelled a little like panic that her story otherwise ended crippled, stuck in a Victorian jail cell (and probably a lunatic asylum afterwards). Like the writers / producers went Look everyone, she's OK! so we wouldn't be too sad she was gonna die horribly.

Still, like I said it's nice to have a show that had a distinct beginning, middle and end.

Just finished this, thought it was excellent - actors and sets were fantastic.

Overall, felt like a junior Dark, simple premise, easily understood.

I think the ending in itself makes sense. Maplewood wasn't reliant on the loop to be born, given she was alive when the bomb happened, so in killing one loop, I guess it kick-started another.

I do wish they'd given more time to what happened her in 1890. And unless I'm stupid and missing something, would she not have been split across multiple timelines? Could be something they're saving for a Season 2, given the ending, but I thought the showrunner said they've no interest in S2?

I think I read in an interview with the either the actress or showrunner. That the scence was put in as a hook for season two. Something for them to work with if they made a season two.

Wouldn't / shouldn't Maplewood have been quite young though when the bomb went off? And how would she have known Hasan's name otherwise? I know the coda had the people meet each other and have a "moment" but it seemed to stop short at knowing who they were. As I said I think the writers panicked and didn't want the last time we saw her in dire straights.

I do wish they'd given more time to what happened her in 1890.

Unfortunately she presumably died either in jail or a lunatic asylum; a crippled opinionated woman in 1890 was probably treated like a crazy person, locked away in a cell, potentially treated to barbaric "treatments", unable to escape cos she couldn't use her legs.
