Advice: Heat Pump System

    Hi,

We recently moved into a new build A2 rated home. We had a very quick walk through during handover and we're now struggling to understand the heat pump system in terms of efficiency.

The house has a zoned system with underfloor heating downstairs and radiators upstairs and there are 3 thermostats downstairs and one upstairs. The heat pump is a Hitachi and there is an EPH zone control box in the plant room also.

The heat pump C1 (heating) is set to 21C and the water to 48. It's my understanding that this is optimal and I should have no need to change these settings.

The EPH module is set to timed on both zones. Is this correct or should it be left on the whole time also?

The thermostats were set to the lowest over the summer, but it's getting a small bit chilly now (13C outside). I set them to 21C and something action started in the heat pump.

My question is, should I leave the thermostat at 21C for the winter now and not touch it?

Should I also leave the EPH zone on for both zones? Should i leave it at timed or always on?

I'm a bit confused as to what is controlling what and what setting is most efficient.
