Job prospects for English teaching

I have just graduated and I am thinking of undertaking a PME degree next year. Does anyone know what the job prospects are for aspiring English secondary teachers? I am close to Dublin, I don’t know if that would help my case. I am planning to sub for the year to get a feel for the job and save up as well.
